About the role

  • Leading and implementing short- and long-term operational strategies for the BackOffice Bookkeeping department.
  • Managing and mentoring the bookkeeping team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement while ensuring performance objectives are achieved.
  • Serving as the primary point of escalation for client service issues, working cross-functionally to resolve them and maintain strong relationships with franchisees.
  • Driving revenue growth by optimizing team structure, overseeing billing and collections, and promoting BackOffice services to potential clients.
  • Developing, tracking, and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to deliver actionable insights that improve operations and client outcomes.
  • Evaluating current workflows to implement efficiencies and ensuring compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal policies.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role directly managing a team/other.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Property Management Accounting experience is preferred.
  • Experience in franchise organizations or outsourced accounting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in platforms such as AppFolio, Yardi, PropertyWare, and QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and bookkeeping best practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent franchisee service and building positive relationships.
  • Ability to use data and insights to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey information to various audiences.
  • Adept at initiating and navigating change effectively.
  • Acts with urgency to identify and resolve service and operational issues.
  • Sense of humor
