Act as UK Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and be a key leader demonstrating compliance to banking partners and government agencies
Receive, assess, and escalate reports of suspicious financial activity and make Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) when necessary
Develop, maintain, and implement AML/CTF policies, procedures, and controls in line with regulatory requirements and best practice
Provide AML/CTF training and ongoing guidance to employees
Ensure NALA complies with relevant AML/CTF regulations, stay updated on regulatory changes, and adjust processes accordingly
Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate AML/CTF risks and determine risk-based customer due diligence and monitoring
Maintain accurate and accessible records including SARs, customer due diligence, and transaction records for regulatory purposes
Strengthen compliance processes, improve transaction monitoring efficiency, establish global AML framework, and lead internal AML compliance reviews as part of success metrics
Requirements
Previously acted as an MLRO and in good standing with the FCA
5+ years’ experience as a compliance professional at a payment services provider, financial institution, challenger bank or Fintech
Experience creating and delivering reports to the FCA
Expert level knowledge and experience of best practice risk management and governance frameworks and methodologies
Experience in merchant acquiring payments, gateway, e-money or wallet products and services, banking functions, and/or merchant processing
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively and lead cross-functional teams
Familiarity with remittances into the African and Asian continents (nice-to-have)
Experience working at a high-growth startup (nice-to-have)
