About the role

  • Responsible for consultative sale of Mindex’s K-12 SaaS portfolio to school districts and regional educational organizations
  • Drive revenue by prospecting, developing, and closing new business; convert prospects into customers and generate referrals
  • Nurture relationships with existing clients to promote retention and expansion
  • Manage a national territory (excluding New York State) with a primarily virtual sales approach and occasional in-person events and conferences
  • Build strong relationships and guide purchasing decisions at all levels within school districts and Educational Service Agencies
  • Plan and manage territory according to agreed sales strategy, track metrics, and prioritize activities to achieve targets
  • Maintain product knowledge, deliver presentations and demonstrations, and write proposals aligned to client needs
  • Address client concerns throughout the sales process; communicate and negotiate to facilitate profitable sales and sustainable relationships
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure fulfillment of organizational objectives
  • Attend and present at external customer meetings, conferences, tradeshows, and internal company functions; monitor and report on market and competitor activities

Requirements

  • Generates new sales and fosters relationships with current clients through thoughtful and ethical sales methods
  • Plans and manages territory according to an agreed upon sales strategy, tracks metrics, and prioritizes activities
  • Maintains robust knowledge of Mindex products and services; articulates value via presentations and demonstrations; writes proposals
  • Addresses prospective client concerns and inquiries; communicates, liaises, and negotiates to close sales
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure fulfillment of objectives and improve customer experience
  • Attends and presents at customer meetings, conferences, and tradeshows; monitors and reports on market and competitor activities
  • Physical requirements: prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; no heavy lifting (up to 10 lbs)
  • 5+ years experience driving and closing K-12 Ed-Tech sales and/or purchase decisions across all levels of educational organizations, preferably in Analytics, MTSS, SMS/SIS, and SPED
  • Experience working within a structured, metrics-driven, team-based culture
  • Strong focus on prospecting and creating new business; hunter mentality
  • Ability to think strategically and propose improvements to sales processes
  • Follow and maintain sales objectives quarterly
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Team player with collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Travel required as needed to drive sales (typically <25%)
