About the role
- Develop and maintain trusted adviser relationships with local clients
- Determine direction and lead market awareness, including involvement in professional associations, technical articles, conferences and boards
- Develop targeted client service action plans for MDOT, counties, and cities
- Coordinate staff workload with other transportation departments within Michael Baker International
- Responsible for successful contracting and project execution
- Lead and participate in developing pursuits and strategic positioning for major Transportation project opportunities
- Lead, assign, and review work of the project delivery team and provide technical guidance and oversight
- Responsible for hiring, development and retention of staff
- Serve as the lead interface with the client
- Lead proposal strategies and participate in business development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
- 10+ Years of relevant experience
- 5+ years in a supervisory role
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Michigan or ability to become licensed in Michigan within 6 months
- Demonstrated supervisor and mentoring skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, public speaking ability, and problem-solving skills
- Experience overseeing successful project delivery
- Proven track record of leading winning proposals
