About the role
- Ensure successful completion of projects including large multi-discipline, major single discipline, and/or systems integration projects, both EPC and services only
- Emphasize project profitability, schedule compliance, communications and documentation, use of project management techniques, and client interaction and support
- Implement proposal procedures and action plans
- Review resource assignments with appropriate department managers
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Provide scope control, change management, and risk identification
- Develop and nurture client and project team professional relationships
- Direct and coordinate technical activities
- Initiate, document, and facilitate project communication with client, project team, and stakeholders
- Ensure all contractual requirements are satisfied
- Maintain records of purchased materials and subcontracts
- Issue and administer subcontracts and associated documentation
- Manage oversight of construction for EPC projects
- Coordinate commercial activities (billing, procurement) with accounting and assist with A/R collections when needed
- Recommend changes to SOP to support continuous improvement and share project management expertise
- Maintain positive client relationships and develop potential work opportunities
- Provide resource managers with feedback on personnel assigned to project teams
- Represent Matrix Technologies in professional organizations and societies related to project management and/or engineering
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture required
- PE and/or PMP (preferred)
- Four years or more of Project Management experience
- 7 years or more of engineering experience
- Experience in industrial manufacturing (preferred)
- Experience with multi-discipline engineering and EPC projects (preferred)
- Ability to travel 25% - 50% locally and 10%-20% overnight
- Physical ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear
- Frequently lift/move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, adjust focus
- May perform industrial field work with exposure to hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, stairs
- May perform industrial field work with exposure to a wide range of known food allergens
