About the role
- Provide high-level paralegal support to procurement and supply chain functions for Medtronic Diabetes
- Support Diabetes MiniMed business separation and establishment of procurement and sourcing functions
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of indirect and direct procurement-related agreements
- Manage the full contract lifecycle including preparation, execution, tracking, renewal/termination and accurate recordkeeping
- Ensure contracts comply with laws, regulations, and Medtronic policies; identify and mitigate legal and business risks
- Partner with procurement, supply chain, finance, and other internal teams to facilitate negotiations and resolve issues
- Develop and implement standardized templates, playbooks, and processes to enhance contract workflows
- Conduct legal research related to procurement regulations and vendor compliance
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams and junior paralegals on contract policies and best practices
- Maintain contract records and generate reports on contract status and performance metrics
- Report to the Assistant General Counsel - Operations
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree required (or degree earned outside the U.S. that satisfies requirements)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with bachelor’s degree, or minimum 8 years with advanced degree
- Strong expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex procurement contracts
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, procurement regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with contract management systems (e.g., Ariba, Sharepoint and Onit)
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing full contract lifecycle, supplier agreements, IT/software licenses, service/consulting agreements, R&D agreements, NDAs
- Experience with compliance and risk mitigation, stakeholder collaboration, process improvement, legal research, training/junior paralegal mentorship, documentation and reporting
