About the role
- Support Property Risks and Coverage (PRC) team handling property damage claims arising from fires, floods, product liability and other perils
- Assist more experienced lawyers pursuing Household and Commercial recovery matters and advising on complex and policy coverage issues
- Work on delegated tasks; not required to handle an independent caseload
- File opening and allocation
- Chasing documents
- Collating documents for lawyers needed to consider strategy
- Diarising Court orders and other critical dates
- Arranging conferences
- Arranging Counsel and other expert attendance
- Legal research and completing factual chronologies
- Ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations
- File Closure
- Working hours: 35 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch; 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
Requirements
- An ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to work with case management systems
- The personal skills to deal with competing demands of your team of lawyers
- Desirable: Degree level education and/or Postgraduate
- Desirable: Previous experience of working in a team which handles insurance claims and/or a legal environment
- Desirable: Knowledge of the sorts of disputes dealt with by the PRC team
