About the role

  • The primary responsibility is to achieve and exceed sales and margin targets for the assigned territory.
  • This includes building a strong sales funnel (to be tracked and maintained in the CRM), establishing and growing distribution network, and managing pricing and bidding opportunities.
  • The position is responsible for generating new business opportunities (specifications), project conversions, gaining product approval with agencies and engineers.
  • This includes daily calls with local engineering firms, design consultants, municipalities, developers, and regulators to generate new HydroChain specifications.
  • The successful candidate must have the ability to provide educational training to the engineering community through face to face calls, lunch and learns, and other promotional activities.
  • The position is responsible for participating in strategic planning.
  • This includes the monitoring of market trends and competition to identify opportunities and threats.
  • It also includes preparing and executing on a territory growth plan and participating in monthly sales forecasting.
  • The position is responsible for outside sales in a large geographic territory, which will require frequent overnight travel.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree (Civil or Mechanical) preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of previous related experience, preferably 5 to 7 years.
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
  • Proven sales record and solid technical background
  • Strategy and business planning skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Expected US travel: > 50%
  • Expected Canada travel 1 – 2 times a year
