About the role
- Join Marcus & Millichap Institutional Property Advisors Southern California team, supporting high-volume multifamily activity
- Conduct 300–350 property valuations and support transactions for a top-producing SoCal team
- Create thesis-driven investment strategies for multifamily assets and build initial investment theses with partners
- Prepare detailed financial models in Microsoft Excel, including UIRR, LIRR, investor waterfalls, and DCFs
- Substantiate investment models with relevant market data: rent and sales comps, rent growth, demand/supply drivers, regional macro data
- Lead graphic design and marketing design team in preparation of presentation materials
- Write client memos, executive summaries, and presentation copy
- Track market data: ground-up development pipeline, capital markets, and economic data points in Southern California multifamily sector
- Manage ad hoc projects, analyses, client communications, and support brokers with insightful content to drive revenue generation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, real estate, finance, economics or related analytical degree from a top tier accredited university
- Minimum of 3+ years of related career experience, preferably in multifamily real estate valuation
- Superior Excel skills / Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience creating discounted cash flow models in Microsoft Excel from scratch
- Excellent professional writing skills
- Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and succinctly
- Exceptional attention to detail (ideal characteristic)

- Experience with project management and strategic thinking or strong interest in developing these skills (ideal)
- Experience with Adobe InDesign, RedIQ, Salesforce, and Databasing are a plus
