Director

• Develop long-term Make-A-Wish celebrity engagement in philanthropy: identify objectives, goals, strategies and measures to successfully drive key marketing metrics and deliver revenue target
• Manage pipeline of fundraising opportunities to ensure celebrities are engaged appropriately (considering fit, timing, etc.)
• Develop briefs and objectives for celebrities in conjunction with teams across the enterprise, considering highest and best use of time of resources
• Build and manage relationships with a targeted fundraising portfolio of celebrity supporters as agreed upon with Director, Entertainment & Sports and team to ensure year over year growth of fundraising and wish granting support
• Create and implement framework and guiding principles to navigate and prioritize celebrity-related requests from internal teams in partnership with key stakeholders
• Manage recognition and stewardship strategies for the Entertainment Marketing–managed celebrity portfolio, ensuring timely and meaningful acknowledgment, in coordination with donor care team
• Represent Make-A-Wish at key events and activations involving celebrity supporters, providing high-touch relationship management, ensuring exceptional partner experience, and advancing engagement opportunities that drive mission and revenue goals.

Director – Celebrity Fundraising

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Perform accounting functions for chapters who have elected to use Shared Financial Services (SFS) to ensure financials are recorded accurately and timely.
• Support chapters using SFS in accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Commit donation batches to Salesforce and post to NetSuite (financial system), the general ledger.
• Review of check requests for proper coding and approvals.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations for review.
• Records journal entries for monthly financial activity.
• Prepare financial reporting package including monthly variance report.
• Reviews, researches, and analyzes data. Responds to inquiries from chapter staff.
• Assist with gathering of information and documents for annual audit process. Helps prepare chapter’s audit workbooks.
• Assist with running custom reports and queries in NetSuite, and/or Excel, as requested.
• Builds and maintains relationships with chapters.
• Provides support for Support Team Staff.
• Performs other job-related duties, as assigned.

Accountant – Shared Financial Services

• Leads and manages member(s) of the accounting team which includes setting expectations, providing feedback, managing workload, ensuring consistent response times and delivery of results.
• Manages and oversees chapter’s financial needs including bank/investment reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and the creation/approval of journal entries.
• Reviews internal and external financial statements, ensuring monthly close is accurate and timely, as well as confirming all variances have been documented and explained.
• Monitors chapter performance against budget and national benchmarking metrics informing chapter leadership of significant variances.
• Monitors chapter’s accounting activity to ensure appropriate recording of revenue and payments agrees to both GAAP and MAW policies.
• Works with the Salesforce system to ensure appropriate coding and reporting of chapter revenue streams.
• Serves as primary liaison, building and maintaining relationships, with assigned portfolio of chapters. Provides reports, queries, and analysis to chapters for account activity, revenue, expenses, etc.
• Assists chapter in preparation of annual budget.
• Acts as key staff person in annual internal and external audit process communicating with National Office, Chapters, and external auditors.
• Facilitates review and evaluation of time and use studies used in allocating the indirect costs of the chapters.

Lead Manager, Accounting – Shared Financial Services

Learning and Development

• Identify and assess future and current organizational learning needs by building partnerships, gathering input from key organizational stakeholders, and provide recommendations and creative solutions based upon findings
• Provide coaching and mentoring to emerging leaders, in partnership with HR Business Partners
• Collaborate across the People/HR team to promote and build workplace optimization through various tools and programs (ex, LMS, change management programs)
• Research, effectively design, develop, and continuously refine customized training content in multiple modalities (e.g. blended, virtual instructor-led, e-learning, guides, and resource materials)
• Evaluate L & D requests from other groups/departments, determine approach and measures of success, etc.
• Facilitate learning programs, courses, and workshops, across the National Office and Chapters
• Evaluate existing learning solutions for efficiency, effectiveness, and/or for potential leverage and broader usage

Senior Manager, Learning and Development

• Establishes and drives the vision, strategies, goals, and objectives of the Shared Financial Services team.
• Establishes the optimal organizational design, processes, and procedures to achieve Shared Financial Services’ objectives.
• Partners with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure ERP and CRM system integrations and enhancements are successful.
• Identifies opportunities for productivity improvements, cost savings, and revenue enhancement initiatives that support the organization’s strategic and financial goals.
• Recruits, trains, and leads team of 25+ accounting professionals, including training them on current accounting principles and organizational policies.
• Creates an environment that promotes a high performing team atmosphere with motivation to learn and grow.
• Directs, motivates, and coaches staff and supports them in partnering with participating chapters.
• Directs and monitors internal and management control systems within Shared Financial Services and in participating chapters.
• Develops and documents business processes as well as policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Owns the reporting process for participating chapters’ monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with organizational policies and U.S. GAAP.
• Leads efforts to provide strong analytics and financial analysis to participating chapters.
• Coordinates and manages completion of the external audit process for participating chapters.
• Researches technical, financial, and accounting issues.
• Directs the preparation of participating chapter’s 990 forms as well as applicable state tax filings.
• Directs planning and forecasting projects for participating chapters.

• Leads onboarding efforts for chapters joining SFS, including streamlining historical processes.
• Delivers direction to Accounts Payable and Donor Care support teams.
• Participates in the implementation of new systems and enhancements.
• Provides guidance on chapter financial processes and reporting.
