About the role
- Control Systems Engineer member of Plant Engineering for Consumable division at Cleveland Operations
- Responsible for physical machine hardware, networks, and software controlling manufacturing equipment
- Design hardware and software, documentation, networking, and data acquisition for control systems
- Work closely with Plant Engineering, MES, IT, Maintenance, and Production to support projects involving PLCs and HMIs
- Collaborate with Operations teams to meet continuous improvement project goals
- Estimate time and cost for new projects and review capital equipment proposals for control system compliance
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and remediation of hardware, software, and network issues to reduce downtime
- Support network backup and device patching management processes and manage control system asset inventory
- Improve system and maintenance performance, review security vulnerabilities, and request remediations
- Compile data from connected devices and make it available organization-wide; develop and apply standards
- Lead projects or project steps, act as a resource, and assume additional responsibilities to support 2025 strategy
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience
- Experience with automation hardware and software platforms, including PLC and HMI
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79, and other technical codes
- Ability to support and troubleshoot industrial equipment
- Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle a variety of assignments and changing priorities
- Work effectively with employees on all levels of the organization
- Provide excellent written and oral communications
