Work on EO/IR systems at various stages of their lifecycle: requirements capture, definition, development, modelling, manufacture, test, and verification
Apply and improve systems engineering processes across the full lifecycle
Collaborate with integrated project teams to design, build, and deliver EO/IR equipment
Contribute to programmes such as Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), Laser Direct Energy Weapons (Dragonfire), IRCM systems, laser target designators and ranging systems
Drive continual learning and improvement across the UK engineering community and act as a change agent for systems engineering
May be assigned as Project Engineering Lead and matched to projects based on skills and experience
Role subject to pre-employment security screening in line with BPSS and potential NSV (SC/DV)
Requirements
Experience applying systems engineering within an EO/IR environment
Proven track record in systems engineering: requirements capture and management; system definition and development; modelling and analysis; verification and validation; full engineering lifecycle application
Domain specialisms: EO/IR systems and technologies; control systems and navigation; imaging, detection, and tracking
Technical expertise with systems engineering methods, tools, and processes
Strong numerical, analytical, and critical-thinking skills supporting “systems thinking”
Eligibility for UK security vetting: BPSS required; may require Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV)
