About the role
- Design of cables using E3 Zuken
- Deliver cable designs for hostile environments such as marine, defence or rail
- Selection of components and materials as needed to meet the specifications
- Creation of parts for the parts library as needed
- Output of drawings/BoMs
- Report progress to senior management teams, tailoring the message to the audience
- Work across the full Engineering Development Lifecycle
- Contribute remotely with occasional attendance at Barnstaple client site
Requirements
- Appropriate qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline eg. ONC/HNC or higher
- E3 Zuken
- Configuration management such as Palma/Team Centre or Windchill
- Ability to effectively communicate engineering issues and concepts both verbally and written, with the ability to present and explain technical problems, tailored appropriately for the stakeholder
- Reporting of progress to senior management teams tailoring the message delivery to the audience
- Able to take ownership and to work on own initiative and seek out answers, in order to gain a good understanding of system functionality
- Experience of connector types for military applications and or hostile environments
- Experience of cable types for hostile environments
- Experience of methods and or techniques to ruggedise cables
- Marine, Defence, Rail or similar experience (priority: marine, military, rail)
- Able to work across the full Engineering Development Lifecycle
- UK sole National BPSS Cleared
- Able to obtain SC
- Willingness to travel occasionally to the client site in Barnstaple
