About the role
- Supervise a team of electrical engineering managers and individual contributor engineers across a wide range of electrical engineering designs
- Ensure technical and professional excellence in all activities, delivering results on time and within budget
- Manage budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments
- Drive Design for Cost, Manufacturability, Maintainability (DfX) into all designs within the department
- Perform succession planning and skills gap analysis; mentor and provide technical guidance to subordinates
- Identify, gain consensus for, and oversee value-added process improvement efforts for engineering
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with company personnel and customers; build interpersonal relationships
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
- Attend in-person or remote engineering, customer, or business meetings as appropriate
- Participate in or lead technical engineering preparation of proposals
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, program managers, and supply chain
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading/managing a team of individual contributors
- Minimum of 8 years of electrical engineering design, development, and test experience
- Technical expertise managing design, development, modification, and analysis of electronics systems and design transfer to production (Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering)
- Firmware experience
- Experience with MS Project scheduling, Agile, development programs is a plus
- Experience leading change and change management
- Problem solver, decision maker, and team leader
- U.S. Citizenship required
- May require an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment
