About the role
- Manage end-to-end procurement for IT hardware, software, and services, including soliciting quotes and negotiating pricing and contracts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand technology needs and ensure timely procurement.
- Process purchase orders and ensure accuracy in billing and invoicing.
- Stay current with market trends and new technologies to inform purchasing decisions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an IT asset management (ITAM) program including policies, processes, and procedures.
- Maintain detailed inventory of IT assets (hardware, software licenses, maintenance contracts) throughout their lifecycle.
- Track and manage assignment and retirement of IT assets; conduct regular audits for accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee secure disposal of retired IT assets in accordance with company and environmental regulations.
- Generate and analyze reports on procurement and asset management to identify cost-saving opportunities and provide regular updates to management on inventory, procurement activities, and budget tracking.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT procurement and/or IT asset management.
- Strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, and licensing models.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Experience with IT asset management software and procurement systems.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), CHAMP).
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and meet tight deadlines; adept at liaising between multiple departments.
