About the role

  • Understand the products that we sell, and find ways to optimize and improve delivery and performance
  • Lead collaboration across editorial, sales, marketing, and operations to optimize workflows and processes, ensuring solutions deliver measurable business value
  • Shape new initiatives and new products that will benefit internal teams, external readers, and advertising clients
  • Drive brand strategy by shaping and monitoring OKRs, analyzing key metrics, and ensuring data-driven alignment with business goals
  • Understand software tools (Hubspot, Jira, Netsuite, etc.) and how they interact with teams; make recommendations for improvement
  • Support project management teams and shape go-to-market plans for new, customer-focused offerings
  • Embed data into every decision by defining key KPIs and leveraging Google Analytics for in-depth web analysis
  • Work with shared service teams including UX, analytics, project management, content and development, and other product owners to align solutions with best practices
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to determine product health and identify opportunities for improvements and new development

Requirements

  • Proven leadership and decision-making skills to guide teams toward achieving business objectives
  • Significant experience in a relevant role (product manager, agency client support, or similar cross-functional capacity), ideally in news, media, digital, data, or technology businesses
  • Technical product development experience with digital products or platforms
  • Creative thinker with ability to find patterns and design excellent customer experiences
  • Sharp analytical, qualitative, and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and drive actions
  • Strategic aptitude and business acumen; ability to define and articulate business opportunities
  • Maturity, poise, and communication skills suitable to interact directly and build trust with internal teams and external customers
  • Product management skills (product vision, customer requirement analysis, roadmaps, UX design, GTM planning)
  • Experience with digital content platforms or building digital experiences preferred
  • Strength in strategy development and complex problem-solving
  • Experience working closely with technology development teams
  • Data-driven mentality; ability to define KPIs, leverage Google Analytics, and develop business cases
  • Familiarity with software tools (Hubspot, Jira, Netsuite, Google Analytics)
  • Position open to eligible Canadian candidates; preference may be given to those located in the Eastern Time zone
