About the role
- Build and execute the strategy for growth in your region by developing a plan and proposal and gaining alignment with key stakeholders within the commercial organization.
- Drive performance through your commercial organization by growing door count, distribution, pricing execution, merchandising excellence, and promotional execution, while combating youth usage.
- Continue to test & iterate on market improvements.
- Coordinate efforts with Government Affairs team on regulatory initiatives.
- Lead, train and build a team of Division Managers and Zone Managers that are responsible for leading a large team of Territory Managers on in-store execution and merchandising in addition to selling.
- Provide feedback to HQ for best in class examples and dissemination of key insights and sales performance to other
- Must currently reside, or be willing to relocate to a state located in the region
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% or more of the time
- Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice
Requirements
- Experience as a Director Level and up sales team leader
- Experience calling on Retail chain HQ decision makers responsible for Tobacco or Tobacco alternative categories
- Experience managing/leading Tobacco or Tobacco alternative product distributors
- Experience calling on Convenience Retail or Convenience Distributor Executives (CEO, COO, CMO, CFO, Etc.,)
- 7-10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably in the highly regulated consumer products industry
- Must have experience leading sales managers
- Proven and demonstrated sales leadership, results oriented leadership, people leadership and strategic leadership skills
- Strongly self-motivated to own & build projects end-to-end and succeed in a “startup environment that requires a willingness to “roll up their sleeves” to ensure success
- Ability to influence others across functions and at multiple levels within the organization, providing ideas in a collaborative way that gets things done through others while advancing culture of collaboration and inclusivity
- Analytical/metrics-oriented, able to think through actions in KPI terms
- Strong 'selling' personality, able to execute on ad hoc business development
- Curious & never satisfied with status quo - always thinking through what can be improved & acting on it
- Excel, power-point, Salesforce, Tableau etc., excellent email / other digital communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
