About the role
- Develop zero-based budgets for 700+ utility accounts using 3-year historical data and conduct monthly variance analysis and reforecasting
- Manage utility operations including shut-off orders, escalated invoices, refund processing, and coordinate rate reviews with utility providers
- Maintain utility data access for interval data collection, ensure billing accuracy against energy contracts, and support system integrations
- Research rate changes, assess project impacts (solar, infrastructure), and perform deep-dive analysis for top performing accounts
- Facilitate training programs, create budget guides, and collaborate with Finance teams and regional leadership
- Support sustainability initiatives including energy audits, EV infrastructure, solar/BESS projects, and waste management programs
- Assist with Capital/OpEx budgeting during peak periods and manage utility audits and efficiency programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, energy management, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in utility bill management or utility operations
- Extensive knowledge of utility billing practices, rate structures, and energy industry regulations
- Proven track record of managing large portfolios of utility accounts (300+ accounts preferred)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in budget development, variance analysis, and financial forecasting
- Experience with utility management software, financial systems (SAP preferred), and data management platforms
- Excellent project management skills with ability to handle multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
