Establish and execute plans to advance strategic supplier relationships
Develop product line opportunities
Identify/support other activities to expand ChemPoint’s business
Map decision makers across the target organization
Gain an internal coach within the target organization
Collaboratively build a Partnership Engagement plan with measurable goals around growing the collective business
Lead supplier interactions to advance strategic alliances and attain new business
Leverage relationships to expand partnerships into new product lines, geographies and customer segments
Create sales strategies and plans to effectively move opportunities forward
Maintain strong, trustworthy relationships throughout the organization
Create and own the overall engagement plan and framing of the deal
Orchestrate Supplier interactions with others on the ChemPoint team
Hold Strategy Sessions before a Supplier visit outlining current situation and critical points to address
Follow-up with team and supplier to ensure outstanding action items are addressed
Work closely with Marketing Business Director to ensure deal viability as it reaches fruition
Requirements
4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
15+ years experience in strategic marketing, management, direct sales, or business development in chemical industry
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a deep network of trusted relationships with supplier executives
Management skills and leadership qualities
Problem-solving and negotiation ability
Strong presentation, written and verbal communication and active listening skills
Consultative selling skills
Knowledge of pricing and marketing strategies and proper short- and long-term execution
Thorough knowledge of ChemPoint internal processes and functions of internal teams, IT applications, products, value-added services and industries served
Strong PC skills required, database experience
Comfortable using business tools like Teams, PowerPoint to aid in Supplier presentations
Comfortable engaging Suppliers face to face, on the phone or in a web meeting as appropriate
Travel 50-75% (Domestic or International)
