About the role
- Develop and manage a comprehensive safety program tailored to FTTH construction and operations, including field, warehouse, and office environments.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety laws and standards (OSHA, DOT, local/state regulations).
- Conduct regular job site audits, hazard assessments, and safety inspections.
- Lead root cause analysis and incident investigations; implement corrective actions and track closure.
- Oversee and deliver safety training for employees and contractors (e.g., PPE, confined space, fall protection, traffic control).
- Collaborate with field supervisors, construction managers, and project leads to promote safety best practices.
- Maintain and analyze safety records, reports, and metrics to track trends and support continuous improvement.
- Manage safety documentation, including SDS records, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety data collection.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in safety management, preferably in telecommunications, utilities, or construction industries.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and best practices related to construction safety.
- Experience conducting field audits, incident investigations, and training sessions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and lead in a cross-functional environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software/tools.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the Company’s active states on a regular basis.
