Technician

• Perform basic maintenance, service and repair to J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis and other equipment
• Conduct fleet maintenance to ensure that our equipment meets J.B. Hunt standards at all times

Night Trailer Technician

Representative

• Assist with gathering necessary items from carrier to expedite the onboarding process
• Train and mentor Carrier Acquisition Representatives particularly new hires or junior team members
• Track leads for new carriers that could develop into a working relationship to drive external capacity growth
• Explain the process to be an approved carrier and maintain status of activity in the qualification process within the company's outsource capacity database
• Evaluate and determine whether prospective carriers meet minimum contracting conditions including insurance and safety requirements of J.B. Hunt and the DOT through a prescribed qualification process utilizing carrier management tools such as Safersys and internal partners such as Corporate Safety
• Develop strategy related to departmental goals for outbound calls, financial returns, and/or capacity growth
• De-escalate issues from the Carrier Acquisition Representatives in relation to the carrier onboarding process
• Create and deliver marketing materials and sales presentations to communicate and demonstrate the value and benefits of our diversified business model for carriers to partner with the J.B. Hunt network in order to increase carrier base. Acts as a subject matter expert for carrier marketing action plans
• Build relationships via cold-calling, email, and online databases with potential carriers by explaining the value of carrying with J.B. Hunt in order to create and maintain a pipeline of contacts. Responsible for developing relationships with carriers base and managing relationship negotiation.

Senior Carrier Onboarding Representative

Business Development Rep

• Under general supervision, this position is responsible for contacting prospective customers with a high-level transportation spend.
• This includes meeting with executive decisions makes to discuss specialized service offerings, such as DCS, FMS, and LTL.
• This position is the primary owner of the account(s) to which it is aligned, and focuses on defining the opportunity strategy to sell to the customer.
• Conduct lead generation activities for new and incremental business, including cold calling, networking and other opportunity prospecting methods.
• Visit prospective and existing customers at their corporate headquarters or other sites as needed. Requires ability to travel to customer sites to meet customer needs.
• Perform various activities related to Opportunity Management and monitoring the health of the account which includes, but is not limited to, Customer KPI review, revenue quality monitoring, watching for additional opportunities, contract and pay terms review to ensure adherence to agreement.
• Coordinate with internal teams and the customer to implement the customer's solution, including participation in kick-off.

• Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and safe, reliable outside carriers to ensure seamless new carrier set-up, minimize turnover and maximize ongoing productivity
• Fill in for absent or unavailable personnel and on special projects related to optimizing fleet operations and achieving profitability
• Learn to utilize personnel management including training and orientation of drivers and/or employees including the training and assistance with internal and third party (customer) systems
• Become proficient in maximizing efficiency of fleet operations and profitability and making recommendations for continuous improvement, measuring key performance indicators, and creating, maintaining and presenting customer specific reporting and financial analysis through face-to-face interactions at customer location

• Learn to manage yard including checking/inspecting equipment, replacing parts (like mud flaps), completing repairs, etc., and coordinating with maintenance to ensure all regular preventative maintenance services are scheduled on time and all safety related mechanical issues are fixed for account equipment (as required)
• Learn to work with drivers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service issues, routing and/or planning, mechanical problems, accessorial pay related issues, etc., as they occur throughout the day and, where necessary, when on call
• Learn to maintain the Company's safety culture to include daily driver safety messages, monthly driver safety briefings, quarterly driver training, annual reviews, and enforce company policies to ensure DOT compliance and company safety requirements are being met
• Learn to assign loads and plan, route, and monitor freight movement to provide safe, on-time service and meet customer requirements, including managing freight exceptions and driver ETA adjustments based on pick-up and delivery schedules, and other environmental factors on the road
• Must be willing to travel between Chehalis, WA and Puyallup, WA as needed.
