About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform basic maintenance, service and repair to J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis and other equipment
- Conduct fleet maintenance to ensure that our equipment meets J.B. Hunt standards at all times
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including air brake systems and FHWA inspections
- Accurately perform basic repairs up to company and manufacturer’s specifications
- Complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
- Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be 18 years of age with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
- Able to supply your own basic tools
- Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
- Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
- Basic welding skills (MIG and stick)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)
