About the role
- Reporting directly to the Sales Director
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed targets
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and tenders within key sectors, including clinical diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and R&D laboratories
- Manage and grow relationships with existing clients, distributors, and strategic partners
- Lead, empower, and support teams within the division to ensure continuous performance improvement
- Identify learning and development opportunities to support team growth and upskilling
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver customer-focused solutions
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to expand the client base
- Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and client communication records using CRM tools
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer events
- Monitor team performance and implement training initiatives as required
- Expand the company’s presence across academic, clinical, laboratory, and industrial markets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or MBA considered an asset)
- Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience within laboratory equipment, diagnostics, or scientific instruments
- Strong knowledge of the scientific and laboratory markets and related products
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to travel as required
- Valid driver’s license
- Eligibility to work in Malta
- Fluency in both Maltese and English
