About the role
- Lead and oversee the Professional Services team to ensure efficient, secure, and profitable delivery of client projects and engagements
- Balance strategic vision, operational management, and hands-on leadership to maintain service excellence and meet financial goals
- Ensure that all client projects and professional services are delivered to the highest standards and aligned with company values
- Identify process improvements, implement refinements, and maintain documentation for audit readiness and knowledge sharing
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members
- Oversee project execution to ensure adherence to budget, timelines, and deliverables and monitor service/project metrics
- Partner with the COO on annual budgeting, departmental planning, and long-term service strategy
- Regularly review service processes for inefficiencies and ensure alignment with security and compliance best practices
- Maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders and clients regarding project status, priorities, and risks
- Lead departmental meetings, support EOS initiatives, and perform additional duties as assigned to support company goals
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing professional and consulting service delivery within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or similar IT services environment
- Strong understanding of project delivery best practices, including scope management, budget adherence, and quality assurance
- Experience optimizing workflows, resource allocation, and processes to maximize efficiency and profitability
- Ability to interpret service and project metrics, identify trends, and implement data-driven improvements
- Broad technical background with exposure to Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 administration
- Knowledge of network infrastructure fundamentals
- Experience with virtualization platforms, storage and backup/disaster recovery solutions
- Awareness of cloud platforms and security practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing technical team
- Skilled in coaching, performance management, and fostering accountability
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking; ability to balance priorities and make decisions under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience managing client escalations
- Understanding of business financials related to professional service efficiency, billable utilization, and project profitability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with ticketing platforms such as ConnectWise, Autotask, or ServiceNow
- Familiarity with collaboration platforms including Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Zoom
- Ability to travel occasionally to client and prospect locations
