Perform and oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
Manage and work directly on full-cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable operations, balancing and prioritizing workflows to maintain accurate cash flow and strong vendor/customer relationships.
Prepare and review financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow); ensuring accuracy through your own work and the oversight of others.
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes while actively performing key closing tasks.
Coordinate directly with external auditors; preparing documentation, answering questions, and following up on audit requests.
Oversee and ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, including reviewing contracts, identifying performance obligations, and preparing related journal entries.
Assist in developing and refining financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring they are practical for day-to-day use.
Partner with the CFO and Director of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, contributing both analysis and tactical execution.
Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings.
Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the more junior accounting staff, offering direction while working alongside them to meet deadlines.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred).
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead accounting capacity.
SaaS industry experience required; private equity-backed company experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience with revenue recognition as it relates to a SaaS organization.
Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite highly preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to apply it to practical, day-to-day accounting activities.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work hands-on in both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
