About the role
- Lead the global go-to-market strategy and planning for Illumina genetic disease software
- Product marketing for new software launches and lifecycle campaigns for on-market portfolio (Emedgene, DRAGEN, Connected Analytics)
- Develop and manage annual/quarterly marketing calendars to align communications and commercial objectives
- Develop compelling positioning that distinguishes Illumina solutions and communicates customer value drivers
- Translate complex genomic analysis workflows into compelling marketing narratives and user benefits
- Engage with KOLs, researchers, and clinicians to gather feedback and validate product-market fit
- Manage creation and updating of technical marketing content (white papers, webinars, case studies, application notes)
- Drive demand generation campaigns across digital channels, conferences, and partner networks
- Enable sales and field application teams with training, competitive battlecards, and customer-facing collateral
- Conduct primary and secondary market research to understand customer needs and competitor positioning
- Partner with broader Illumina marketing teams and external partners to guide regional campaigns and co-marketing programs
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in life sciences; or 6 years and master's degree; or 3 years and PhD
- Previous success leading cross-functional teams with a proven track-record of working constructively with sales/support personnel and customers
- Technical knowledge of informatics, next-generation sequencing and molecular biology is highly desired
- Experience selling, supporting, or marketing genomic analysis software preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional initiatives
- Strong analytical skills with ability to tie detailed analyses to larger strategy and make data driven decisions
- Genetic disease software expertise and history of engaging key opinion leaders, researchers, and clinicians
