About the role
- Provide project management, analytical, technological, and process-related oversight for the Black in Business (BiB) and 10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB) programs
- Lead and promote strategic advising work and identify methods to optimize and implement processes
- Engage regularly with external stakeholders including the Goldman Sachs Foundation, NYU Stern, and Babson College
- Supervise two to three staff members and report to the Director
- Coordinate and manage outreach, recruitment, application, and selection processes for BiB to select 640 businesses annually
- Manage complex partner relationships with program site teams and partners
- Analyze applicant and participant data and present key findings to funder and partners
- Cultivate partnerships with business support services and community development organizations
- Lead webinars and panels with key partners and stakeholders
- Participate in evaluation and selection process, including facilitating interviews with applicants and site partners
- Manage program contact management systems and internal databases; build templates, guides and training materials; host training
- Manage execution of the 10KSB program in one-two program sites and outreach/selection for three cohorts totaling 120 participants per market
- Serve as primary point of contact for Goldman Sachs at designated locations and ensure quality of program data
- Act as BTT team lead when Deputy Director is unavailable; provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff
- Travel to small business conferences and local sites
- Conduct performance reviews, hiring, and professional development support for direct reports
- Serve on an ICIC committee and represent BiB and 10KSB programs
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of work experience OR 10+ years of relevant work experience
- At least 2-3 years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of economic development and small business operations is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- Demonstrated experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills and a keen attention to detail
- Professional communication skills for interacting with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks concurrently while managing competing demands
- Collaborative, solutions-oriented team player
- Ability to work remotely and maintain standard Eastern Time Zone business hours
- Ability to travel at least 20% of the year, nationally
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (ICIC participates in E-Verify)
