Responsible for the strategy, operations, and enterprise-wide growth of Virtual Health services at Houston Methodist
Lead virtual care transformation focusing on workforce optimization, financial sustainability, and enterprise growth through business development
Report directly to executive leadership and be accountable for strategic growth and operational excellence
Establish Virtual Care as an integrated enterprise service line and cultivate a high-performance, inclusive culture
Shape organizational readiness for innovation, strengthen alignment across hospitals, and support clinical and operational leaders in digital care delivery
Oversee vendor contracts, physician workforce strategies, ROI development, and demonstrate financial value and long-term sustainability
Collaborate with hospital leadership teams and system leadership to develop strategic project pipelines, service expansion, and care delivery models
Drive cross-functional collaboration, identify centralization opportunities, and solve complex digital health challenges across the enterprise
Provide management and oversight of multiple areas and entities; form and lead internal teams, provide training and mentorship
Manage employee engagement, staffing levels, budget development and compliance; ensure ethical, legal, and regulatory compliance
Lead development and implementation of strategic virtual care projects, set goals for management teams, and ensure timely execution
Unify and scale virtual care services across all Houston Methodist entities to drive efficiency and cost reduction
Own vendor contract strategy and portfolio; negotiate, monitor performance, and develop partnerships
Serve as system thought leader for virtual care billing optimization and reimbursement strategy
Ensure quality, safety, and compliance; monitor service levels, conduct root cause analyses, and implement continuous improvement
Manage operating and capital budgets, develop financial models and ROI metrics, and participate in financial and operational reviews
Represent Houston Methodist Virtual Care at industry conferences and lead business development and partnership efforts
Drive innovation, workforce optimization initiatives, and explore opportunities to scale Virtual Care nationally
Requirements
Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field
Ten years of progressive healthcare leadership experience
Eight years in a people management role
Experience in healthcare operations, information systems, or managing complex clinical and business portfolios
Proven success in digital health transformation, virtual care program development, enterprise strategy, workforce transformation, business development, and partnership management with operational accountability
Executive or senior leadership experience with a record of leading clinical and operational change across disciplines, departments, and service lines preferred
Demonstrated leadership presence and maturity; impeccable judgment and ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic setting
Executive-level presentation skills and ability to interface successfully with high-level clients
Demonstrates the ability to interact with others to gain acceptance of ideas and build consensus
Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and techniques; modify behavior to accommodate tasks, situations and individuals
Critical thinking, self-direction, initiative, and effective interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
Ability to identify and understand issues, compare data from different sources, and develop appropriate solutions
Extensive knowledge of regulatory and accreditation agency requirements impacting department
Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and comfort living in ambiguity; ability to lead during times of change
Experience leading teams/facilitating groups, building consensus and confidence among senior leadership
Ability to work under pressure and balance competing priorities; highly responsive and solution/action oriented

Deep understanding of virtual health best practices, emerging healthcare technologies, and market opportunities
Experience in business development, strategic partnerships, and vendor contract management, including negotiation and performance monitoring
Financial leadership in ROI development, P&L management, and value creation applied to virtual care initiatives
Experience leading workforce transformation and physician alignment strategies for system-wide centralization
High degree of integrity and ability to work independently and collaboratively
Exceptional people leadership skills with a track record of developing talent and fostering accountability, inclusion, and trust
Ability to execute complex strategies through disciplined planning, performance measurement, and delivery of results
Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform essential functions
May require travel within and outside the Houston Metropolitan area
On call as required during emergencies (Disaster, Severe Weather Events, etc.)
