About the role

  • Lead Engine’s Lodging team owning the top-of-funnel hotel experience (search to selection)
  • Guide Lodging Search to drive reliable, intuitive user flows that power millions of bookings
  • Lead a high-performing engineering team by driving collaboration, growth, and accountability
  • Set clear goals, provide strategic direction, and develop talent to ensure long-term success
  • Manage the end-to-end development lifecycle ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and technical excellence
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical initiatives with business objectives
  • Drive efficiency through agile methodologies and engineering best practices
  • Act as the bridge between engineering and other teams, translating technical concepts for business stakeholders
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and integrate innovative solutions that enhance product development and business growth

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering
  • At least 2 years in a management role
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical foundation with expertise in at least one of TypeScript/Node.js, Java/Kotlin, or Ruby on Rails
  • Experience working with AWS and Datadog
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Deep understanding of agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Strategic and results-driven approach to engineering and team leadership
  • Adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset
