About the role
- Provide ASL interpretation services for clients as a freelance 1099 Independent Contractor
- Operate as a freelance interpreter, set your availability and accept appointments based on your schedule
- Serve appointments primarily during business hours Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm (appointments not guaranteed; offered based on need)
- Work in Livermore area and Fremont; travel compensation provided for anyone 30 miles radius outside of Fremont
- Complete skills assessment, background check, and onboarding to join the linguist network
- Adapt to different settings and work environments and complete required documentation in a timely manner
Requirements
- Exhibit proficiency in ASL (American Sign Language)
- Be willing to complete ASL (American Sign Language) assessment by as Certified ASL Professional (exceptions can be made with proven work history and certifications).
- Complete all required documents in a timely manner.
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Availability during business hours Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
- Willingness to work as a 1099 Independent Contractor and accept appointments based on schedule.
