• Review physician’s documentation and assigned CPT, ICD‐10, and modifiers to all surgical and anesthesia services.
• Communicates to appropriate parties any operative note deficiencies requiring completion or addendums needed.
• Maintain a charge reconciliation process to ensure all revenue has been captured.
• Ensure all regulations are met and claims subsequently submitted to payers accurately.

Surgical Coder – Corporate Reimbursement, Part Time

Director

• Manage processes for policy creation, approval, storage, and maintenance using designated policy management system.
• Collaborate with IT to maintain and enhance system functionality and security.
• Facilitate policy oversight committees and monitor review cycles.
• Develop and deliver training for policy owners, approvers and other end users.
• Partner with organizational leaders to implement tactics for policy deployment and compliance evaluation.

Director, Policy Management

Insurance

• Responsible for non‐complex electronic and paper claim submissions to insurance payers.
• Coordinates required information for filing secondary and tertiary claims.
• Analyzes claims for accuracy, including diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Makes charge corrections or follows up with appropriate parties as needed.
• Follows up with payers on unresponded claims.
• Works denied claims by following correct coding and payer guidelines.
• Teams with Insurance Billing Specialist II and Denial Resolution staff for projects, guidance on more complex billing issues, and training.
• Responds to questions from insurance companies, government agencies, and all Guthrie Medical Group offices.
• Partners with CRC and other Guthrie departments to field billing inquiries.
