About the role
- Lead and rebuild GridGain’s global marketing function and partner with the go-to-market team
- Build a scalable product marketing function that enables sales and supports new product introductions
- Drive creation of solution and persona-based content across all funnel stages
- Own and evolve GridGain’s brand and solution messaging and lead a messaging transformation
- Serve as a visible evangelist for GridGain at events, in media, and across digital channels
- Architect an integrated demand generation engine aligned to long-cycle enterprise sales
- Own MQL-to-SQL pipeline rigor, attribution clarity, and alignment with Sales
- Define and execute campaigns targeting new logo acquisition and expansion within enterprise accounts
- Reinvigorate GridGain’s connection to the Apache Ignite user base and partner with Developer Relations
- Build and lead a high-performing team across product marketing, demand gen, content, and community
- Recruit and develop talent and collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Customer Success
Requirements
- Marketing leadership in high-growth B2B software companies—ideally in databases, distributed systems, or software infrastructure
- Proven experience as a VP or CMO; no first-timers
- Has built and led a high-performing marketing team from scratch
- Strong product marketing DNA—can translate deep technical capabilities into differentiated business value
- Fluent in open-source business models and experienced in growing developer communities
- Skilled in solution selling, ABM, long-cycle enterprise GTM, and supporting sales enablement across complex customer journeys
- Collaborative operator with executive presence, independent thinking, and a bias for action
- Comfortable working in dynamic, scaling environments with significant GTM and cultural transformation underway
- Candidate must be physically located on the West Coast of the USA
