About the role
- Responsible for assigned portions of day-to-day operations for Government Programs & Pricing (GPP) across Gilead’s US portfolio; reports to the GPP Senior Director
- Effectively collaborate with Legal, Contract Operations, Trade Operations, Compliance, and IT
- Serve as the primary GPP point of contact with Kite Pharma and attend meetings independently
- Provide analysis and support for strategic initiatives spanning commercial, Federal, Medicare, and Medicaid markets
- Analyze implications from government pricing, operational, and financial perspectives, particularly for Kite Pharma
- Advocate with and influence key stakeholders using strong communication skills
- Act as subject matter expert on government payers and programs and advise on AMP, BP, ASP, NFAMP, 340B PHS Ceiling Price, FCP, and URA calculations
- Complement GPP team expertise in regulatory interpretation, policy and procedure development, and system dependencies
- Analyze calculation results, identify sources of variances period over period, and ensure timely and accurate reporting to government agencies and internal stakeholders
- Lead implementation of regulatory changes via methodology assessments, operational evaluations, and financial analyses
- Assess risks and develop internal controls to prevent and detect errors impacting government price reporting
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of the Model N application to optimize system configurations and test changes
- Inform upstream business partners of government pricing requirements concerning data granularity and system setup
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years’ Experience of managed markets experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry OR Masters' Degree and Eight Years’ Experience
- 5+ years of direct government price reporting experience
- Experience with CAR-T therapies
- Demonstrated track record as an independent, self-starter who is comfortable with adding structure in ambiguous situations
- Expert knowledge of government pricing regulations and operations for a broad product portfolio
- Thought leader who can influence change and build consensus through superior verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional team leadership skills, and the ability to manage and lead others
- Advanced Model N, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Understanding of processes across functional areas, including Channel/Trade, Commercial Contracting, Government Contracting, Patient Assistance, Commercial Rebates, Government Rebates, and Chargebacks
- Project management, cross-functional team leadership, and system implementation experience
- Master's degree in business administration, data analytics, health policy, finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and gross-to-net (GTN) analysis
- Data management skills and ability to navigate information to provide relevant and reliable data
- Ability to multi-task in a deadline intensive environment
