Own the long-term product vision and roadmap for model training systems across GM’s autonomous vehicle platform, balancing engineering constraints, business needs, and data fidelity requirements.
Define strategies for how we address the different stages of ML training workflow (data acquisition, training, evaluation, deployment).
Proactively identify gaps and tradeoffs in system performance, data throughput, and developer productivity; lead initiatives to improve observability, efficiency, and control.
Drive a metrics-driven approach by defining KPIs for training effectiveness, developer productivity, and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, infrastructure, finance teams, and stakeholders to align priorities and translate business needs into engineering work.
Make principled decisions, navigate ambiguity, and communicate strategy and technical details in cohesive written narratives.
Requirements
5+ years product management experience
Proven ability to balance tradeoffs between consumer needs and expectations, legal and regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
Experience developing solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
Demonstrated expertise in writing, with the ability to effectively balance and integrate regulatory, privacy, and engineering user perspectives to ensure clear requirements for data logging.
Ability to identify key data and metrics required to make decisions and implications of their movement.
Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to all stakeholders.
Relevant educational background in a technical field (preferred).
Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future (no H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, etc.).
Role is hybrid and the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week.
