About the role
- Own GeneDx’s long-range plan: build and maintain a rolling 5-year model (income, balance sheet, cash flow) by business area
- Develop operating mechanisms to track GeneDx’s trajectory against the plan: internal performance, external threats, risks, investments
- Establish and lead investment evaluation cadence across growth levers (CapEx, OpEx, pricing, M&A, partnerships)
- Strengthen understanding of new and existing markets: size, competitor economics, product fit
- Support strategic decision making with structured problem statements, issue trees and analyses
- Develop screening theses and quick-turn valuations for potential acquisitions; track value post-close
- Stand up dedicated finance business partner support for Data business and other growth areas
- Produce board-ready reporting and narratives for regular reporting and key decisions
- Manage and hire 1-3 finance business partners (senior manager level)
Requirements
- 10+ years across Strategic Finance / Corp Dev / management consulting (diagnostics / payer/ provider experience a plus)
- Track record building LRPs, running investment discipline, and producing board-grade materials; comfort challenging senior operators
- Strong financial modeling inclusive of both ad hoc analysis and 3-statement models
- Working fluency with SQL/warehouse systems a plus
- Experience managing teams (1-3 finance business partners/senior managers)
