About the role

  • Provide oversight and management of front-line manufacturing hourly employees
  • Develop an operational year plan for own manufacturing activities of the team; suggest improvements in products, processes, and procedures
  • Provide leadership to a team that builds a team environment with safety as a top priority
  • Work with cross-functional peers to troubleshoot and resolve technical and quality issues
  • Develop and support the professional growth of all employees
  • Support all company workplace policies, including attendance and safety objectives
  • Provide direction and support for assigned production employees/technicians, including resource and coverage planning, scheduling overtime, Kronos/timekeeping and supporting factory priorities
  • Maintain and further develop Visual Management, including support for 5-S, materials and metric displays
  • Monitor performance against factory/business objectives (operational and financial) and take proactive action to solve problems and mitigate risk
  • Ensure compliance with business, quality and safety standards
  • Develop, coordinate, lead, execute, and monitor daily production plan goals and targets
  • Develop and execute training plans
  • Coordinate consistent and effective shift-to-shift transition
  • Develop and implement process controls
  • Support Cell Leader in strategic planning of workforce, equipment, and other resources
  • Coordinate resources to achieve goals with a timely and cost-effective strategy
  • Support, encourage, and drive core manufacturing and Lean principles and continuous improvement projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college OR high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years in manufacturing or operations
  • Ability to work weekends, any shift, flexible hours when needed
  • High sense of urgency and ownership of assigned tasks
  • Ability to foster team connections, build trust, and communicate effectively
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and organization
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
  • Demonstrated leader and respectful team player
  • Hands-on experience with implementing and sustaining process improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver timely actions under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence and motivate others
  • Willingness and ability to learn from others and listen with intent
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a diverse multi-cultural team environment
  • Previous experience leading Kaizen events and proficient use of Lean toolkit to solve complex problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability
  • Ability to lead initiatives of business-level scope and impact
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to deal fairly and equitably with all employees
  • Ability to train, coach, and develop employees
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening
