About the role
- Direct major cross functional campaigns and pursuits for defense engine programs
- Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities driving growth
- Represent military engine and systems product lines to position products and services in the military market
- Build influential relationships with customers at all levels and establish detailed customer contact plans
- Develop and execute opportunity pursuit / capture plans
- Manage development of numerous, complex, multi-million-dollar proposal efforts
- Lead or support negotiations as needed to close deals
- Manage CRM systems tracking pursuits and opportunities
- Provide commercial and technical expertise within the defense engine market segment
- Support division input for operating planning and forecasting
- Assist in the development and execution of an overall growth strategy for military engine and systems products/services
- Some international and Foreign Military Sales exposure
- Serve as a product sales expert as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace / defense industry business development, sales, marketing, commercial operations or program / account management
- Ability to travel 25%-50% as needed
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field
- Preferred: Prior experience with aircraft engines or aircraft mission/vehicle subsystems
- Preferred: Prior sales experience in leading aerospace/defense OEM pursuits
- Preferred: Prior experience managing proposals
- Preferred: Prior experience working with aircraft services
- Strong oral and written communication skills
