💰 $115,000 - $135,000 per year
About the role
- Lead and manage survey projects, guiding field crews and office teams
- Create and oversee survey drawings, boundary computations, topographical data, ALTA surveys, and construction layouts
- Manage project schedules and budgets and ensure field crews have necessary calculations, alignments, and digital files
- Prepare and review construction as-builts to ensure alignment with design intent and field conditions
- Hire, train, mentor, and delegate tasks to junior staff with daily on-the-job training
- Prepare and deliver proposals, determine survey type and estimate project complexity and volume
- Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders and support business development efforts
- Occasional field travel as needed
Requirements
- PLS license or ability to obtain one within a year (required)
- Minimum of a high school diploma or technical school education in surveying technology—or equivalent experience
- At least 2-5 years of experience in survey project management or leadership (2+ years mentioned)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other specialized survey software
- Deep expertise in principles and practices of land surveying, including equipment use, easements, and property/boundary research
- Experience with boundary computations, topographical data, ALTA surveys, and construction layouts
- Ability to manage project schedules and budgets
- Experience preparing and reviewing construction as-builts
- Experience hiring, training, mentoring, and supervising field and office staff
- Ability to prepare and deliver proposals and estimate surveying scope/complexity
- Current driver’s license in good standing and willingness to travel occasionally
