The Employee Experience Manager shapes and delivers a seamless, mission-aligned employee journey for Galileo’s HQ and seasonal staff.
You will ensure every touchpoint—from pre-boarding through alumni engagement—reflects our values, reinforces our camp-centered culture, and delivers meaningful impact.
This role combines strategic design and hands-on execution: you’ll plan, coordinate, and manage the systems, communications, and processes that bring the People Team’s vision to life.
You’ll work cross-functionally to ensure all employees—HQ staff, Camp Directors, and 2,000+ summer staff—are fully onboarded, equipped, and inspired to do their best work.
You’ll own the details, deadlines, and data that keep the employee experience running smoothly, while constantly looking for ways to improve efficiency, clarity, and connection at scale.
Design and implement employee engagement programs that foster connection, recognition, and belonging throughout the year.
Lead alumni engagement through community initiatives and newsletters, including for returning summer staff, in partnership with Talent Acquisition to support rehire strategies.
Partner with leadership to ensure employee experiences reinforce Galileo’s mission and culture at every stage of the journey.
Own employee surveys: design, administer, analyze, and share actionable insights to inform programs and decisions.
Plan and execute staff events that strengthen culture, connection, and engagement across HQ and seasonal teams, including the annual HQ summit.
Define and track key employee experience metrics (e.g., onboarding completion rates, engagement scores, feedback survey trends) to drive ongoing improvements.
Requirements
4 - 6 years of experience in employee experience, HR, learning & development, or related program management, with a track record of designing and implementing employee programs and processes that deliver consistent, high-quality experiences.
Demonstrated experience scaling processes for seasonal, high-turnover, or mission-driven workforces, rather than managing one-off onboarding or individual hires.
Experience in education, out-of-school-time programs, or summer camps is a plus.
Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
Experience creating and managing employee communications and knowledge resources, including onboarding/training content.
Experience analyzing employee feedback and metrics to drive continuous improvement in programs and processes, and advanced spreadsheet/reporting tools (Google Sheets/Excel).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and alignment across cross-functional teams and regional leaders.
Flexibility, resilience, and adaptability to thrive in the fast-moving, high-volume camp staffing season.
Experience with state-specific onboarding or regulatory requirements (IL, CA, CO) is a plus, but not required.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.
