About the role

  • Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure suppliers exceed corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery
  • Lead cross-functional decisions with Ford and supplier leadership to resolve open issues
  • Drive assessment and validation of manufacturing feasibility at supplier sites
  • Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Use data, metrics, and business plans to drive sourcing and quality improvement decisions
  • Serve as principal for on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions during emergency supplier situations
  • Lead adherence to Ford standards (e.g., Q1)
  • Lead on-site corrective actions and capacity/quality issue resolution with suppliers

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science/ Engineering, or equivalent technical / manufacturing aptitude
  • 5+ years’ experience in one or more manufacturing processes (Casting, Machining, Forging, Stamping, Welding, Plastic/Rubber Molding, Brazing, Sintering, Automated/Manual Assembly Processes, Controls Automation programming, Paint, Chroming, SMC)
  • Ability to develop and present materials to leadership on short notice
  • Ability to lead resolution of manufacturing, quality, and/or capacity issues on-site with suppliers
  • Ability to travel in the US, Canada, and Mexico approximately 75% of the time
  • Experience leading multiple assignments with demanding timelines (preferred)
  • Manufacturing, maintenance, and quality operations experience (preferred)
