About the role
- Maintain relations with suppliers and manage supplier communication
- Place orders for raw materials and purchased parts according to production requirements
- Receive and handle order confirmations
- Check and modify purchase orders according to production plan changes using Shortage List and Open Purchase Order List
- Track shipments and follow up as needed
- Perform regular weekly stock checks to avoid overstock
- Minimize risk of obsolescence via weekly obsolete report checks
- Correspond with freight forwarders and warehouses and organize transportation when needed
- Deal with claims and settle debit/credit issues
- File and record necessary procurement documents
- Check inventory of critical materials and coordinate discrepancy resolution with warehouse personnel
- Handle purchasing data privacy
- Ensure active components are available in time at agreed prices
- Review requisitions and MRP output; order, reschedule, cancel materials accordingly
- Maintain procurement records (items purchased, costs, delivery, inventories) and reports/metrics
- Manage supplier performance for price, delivery and quality and escalate when appropriate
- Approve invoices for payment
- Investigate inventory levels and monitor material movement through production cycle
- Conduct quarterly supplier reviews
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Working usage of Word, Excel and Power Point
- English language knowledge
- Data entry, ten-key, spreadsheet (PC)
- ERP software experience
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts (discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume)
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense comprehension to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
