• Gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of the geothermal completions process
• Assist in the planning and execution of hydraulic fracturing operations
• Collaborate with engineers to gather and analyze data for completion design
• Support field operations by conducting data collection and monitoring equipment during well completions
• Participate in post-fracturing analysis and reporting, including performance evaluation and optimization recommendations

Application Engineer

• Develop, train, and evaluate advanced AI models (LLMs, ML, time-series, hybrid physics-informed)
• Collaborate with end-user teams to scope and deliver applied AI solutions
• Contribute to Fervo’s centralized AI infrastructure and data architecture
• Document methodologies and provide clear technical communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Present findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams, including senior leadership
• Report to Fervo’s Strategy Team and serve as internal consultant to partner with end-user departments
• Work on projects such as subsurface forecasting, real-time drilling optimization, RAG systems, predictive maintenance, and power price forecasting

AI Applications Engineering Intern

Electrical Engineer

• Contribute to the development, construction, and engineering of geothermal power plants (surface facilities)
• Support planning and execution of various project phases with Surface Facilities Team
• Conduct reviews of engineering deliverables
• Assist in the design and optimization of surface facilities
• Perform electrical system studies (steady state and transient) using ETAP for feasibility or design considerations
• Develop specifications for major electrical equipment and use them to obtain quotes and coordinate supplier options
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met

Electrical Engineering Intern

People Operations

• Rotate through each area of expertise within the People Operations group to become familiar with the processes and systems.
• Conduct needs analysis for scalable growth with input from each People Operations team.
• Review HR systems stack to identify potential efficiencies and gaps.
• Survey available HR information systems and related system options.
• Help develop and refine People Operations’ processes, tools, and resources.

People Operations Intern

Data Analyst

• The Seismology & Data Analytics Intern will support Fervo Energy’s data team by developing automated and machine learning (ML) tools for processing real-time streams of fiber optic data from geothermal operations, which generate thousands of tiny, imperceptible manmade earthquakes ("microseismicity"). Accurate high-speed detection and location of these events is crucial to understanding physical processes that impact the success of operations. Responsibilities include processing and labelling large microseismic datasets, subsequently training a neural network to detect microseismic events in new data; and investigating ML tools to automatically determine the magnitude or location of microseismic events.

Seismology and Data Analytics Intern

Production Engineer

• Assist with overseeing Fervo Energy’s project assets and identifying technology opportunities to maximize power generation and cost effectiveness through safe operations and asset management
• Conduct regular asset monitoring of production and injection wells, identifying optimization opportunities
• Collaborate with adjacent disciplines, field and power plant operators, outside stakeholders and vendors to analyze well/field performance and advise on production optimization
• Perform analyses on production data and instruments to ensure data quality
• Investigate new and existing production engineering technology opportunities to maximize power generation
• Contribute to global industry understanding of producing an enhanced geothermal system (EGS) asset
• Support the Production Engineering Team and collaborate with Completions, Surface Facilities, and Reservoir Engineering Teams
• Engage with stakeholders, communicate and educate Fervo team members on key learnings

Production Operations Engineer Intern

• Support Fervo Energy’s subsurface modeling and optimization to support geothermal energy development goals
• Analyze reservoir modeling and field data
• Collaborate with the reservoir and geology teams
• Frequent check-ins with mentor and present recommendations
• Present recommendations on field optimization strategies for Fervo’s enhanced geothermal projects
• Eligible for some hybrid work flexibility but regular in-office presence required at Golden, Houston, or Reno Offices
