People Operations Intern

Data Analyst

• The Seismology & Data Analytics Intern will support Fervo Energy’s data team by developing automated and machine learning (ML) tools for processing real-time streams of fiber optic data from geothermal operations, which generate thousands of tiny, imperceptible manmade earthquakes ("microseismicity"). Accurate high-speed detection and location of these events is crucial to understanding physical processes that impact the success of operations. Responsibilities include processing and labelling large microseismic datasets, subsequently training a neural network to detect microseismic events in new data; and investigating ML tools to automatically determine the magnitude or location of microseismic events.

Seismology and Data Analytics Intern

Production Engineer

• Assist with overseeing Fervo Energy’s project assets and identifying technology opportunities to maximize power generation and cost effectiveness through safe operations and asset management
• Conduct regular asset monitoring of production and injection wells, identifying optimization opportunities
• Collaborate with adjacent disciplines, field and power plant operators, outside stakeholders and vendors to analyze well/field performance and advise on production optimization
• Perform analyses on production data and instruments to ensure data quality
• Investigate new and existing production engineering technology opportunities to maximize power generation
• Contribute to global industry understanding of producing an enhanced geothermal system (EGS) asset
• Support the Production Engineering Team and collaborate with Completions, Surface Facilities, and Reservoir Engineering Teams
• Engage with stakeholders, communicate and educate Fervo team members on key learnings

• Support Fervo Energy’s subsurface modeling and optimization to support geothermal energy development goals
• Analyze reservoir modeling and field data
• Collaborate with the reservoir and geology teams
• Frequent check-ins with mentor and present recommendations
• Present recommendations on field optimization strategies for Fervo’s enhanced geothermal projects
• Eligible for some hybrid work flexibility but regular in-office presence required at Golden, Houston, or Reno Offices
