About the role
- Contribute to the development, construction, and engineering of geothermal power plants (surface facilities)
- Support planning and execution of various project phases with Surface Facilities Team
- Conduct reviews of engineering deliverables
- Assist in the design and optimization of surface facilities
- Perform electrical system studies (steady state and transient) using ETAP for feasibility or design considerations
- Develop specifications for major electrical equipment and use them to obtain quotes and coordinate supplier options
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met
Requirements
- Junior or Senior actively enrolled in an undergraduate program, or any level of graduate program
- Understanding of electrical power systems, steady state and transient system studies
- Fundamental knowledge of electrical apparatus common to a power generating plant
- Familiarity with electrical modeling software (e.g., ETAP) for steady state or transient studies
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to develop technical reports and presentations
- Self-motivated with strong desire to execute large scopes of work; ability to think critically
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to develop equipment specifications and coordinate with suppliers/obtain quotes
