About the role
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive People Operations Generalist to join our People team. Reporting to the Senior People Operations Manager (Head of People), this role will be a key partner in supporting team members and managers across a variety of People functions with a primary focus on People operations, compliance, benefits & leave of absence administration, and HRIS management (Paylocity preferred). Additional responsibilities will include support with recruiting and employee relations. The ideal candidate is resourceful, approachable, and eager to help drive operational excellence within the People function.
Key Responsibilities HR Operations (35%): Manage onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and records. Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies. Generate HR reporting to support leadership. Compliance, Benefits & Leave Administration (35%): Serve as the first point of contact for benefits questions. Support open enrollment, vendor relationships, and claims. In close partnership with Payroll, administer leaves of absence (FMLA, state leaves, disability, etc.) and ensure compliance. HRIS, Paylocity preferred (20%): Maintain accurate employee data, optimize workflows and reporting, and troubleshoot issues and partner with vendor support. Employee Relations (5%): Provide guidance on policies and workplace concerns. Support managers with routine level 1 employee relations matters and escalate complex issues as needed. Recruiting (5%): Lead full-cycle recruitment for entry- to mid-level roles, including posting, screening, coordinating interviews, and offers.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of HR generalist experience, with exposure to multiple HR functions. Experience in HR operations, HRIS management, and benefits administration (including leave management); entry-level recruiting a plus. Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms; Paylocity strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law (local and state jurisdiction) and HR best practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
