About the role
- Lead and support a team of 2–4 product designers, investing in their growth, performance, and career development
- Drive hiring for open roles on your team, partnering with recruiting and design leadership
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and data teams to define strategy, scope product opportunities, and ship high-quality solutions
- Balance management responsibilities with hands-on design work—own critical projects contributing to business goals
- Champion design excellence and foster a collaborative, feedback-rich design culture grounded in user-centered thinking
- Shape foundational design systems and architecture for AI tools and workflow infrastructure
- Report to the Head of Design and act as a player-coach (approx. half mentoring, half hands-on design)
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software product design
- 2+ years of experience in managing other designers
- A track record of designing impactful B2B workflow tools for complex, specialized users
- Experience with internal tooling and/or AI interfaces is a strong plus
- Proven ability to lead and scale a team, including hiring and developing talent
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to drive clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and ship high-quality work at speed
- Ability to work in-person at least 3 days a week from one of our office hubs
