About the role

  • Own and scale the competitive insights function globally across industries and product categories
  • Continuously track and analyze competitor activity, product launches, pricing, GTM strategies, messaging, and partnerships
  • Partner with sales, solutions, and customer success to build and maintain a competitor database
  • Monitor market movements, industry trends, new entrants, and adjacent market activity
  • Collaborate on messaging evolution and market positioning as member of product marketing
  • Work with product and marketing to ensure insights inform roadmap and GTM strategies
  • Supply sales enablement with CI and produce battlecards, objection handling scripts, and talk tracks
  • Train GTM teams and attend/support deal reviews where competitive dynamics are a factor
  • Package and present competitive insights to stakeholders and exec leadership; write CI briefs and reports
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to influence roadmap, identify churn risks, and serve as voice of the competitor
  • Create and deploy AI-driven CI tools and databases; provide weekly CI briefs, monthly exec updates, quarterly reviews
  • Ensure materials are current, accessible, and used by GTM teams; conduct customer/prospect interviews
  • Own/support win/loss analysis program; identify competitive trends in pipeline, deal outcomes, and feedback.

Requirements

  • Ability to set strategy and execute as a one-person competitive intelligence role
  • 3–6+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, product marketing, strategy, or sales enablement in B2B SaaS
  • Proven ability to analyze information, connect insights, and generate strategic recommendations
  • Experience synthesizing information and creating presentations or strategic briefs tailored for different audiences
  • Strong communicator comfortable presenting to both individual contributors and senior leaders
  • Comfortable speaking with customers, building relationships, and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Highly organized with a bias for action and iteration
  • Experience measuring impact of CI programs (e.g., win-rate improvement, enablement adoption, exec usage of CI briefs)
  • Preferred: Background in management consulting, strategy, or analyst roles
  • Preferred: Experience conducting interviews for win/loss or churn research
  • Preferred: Experience with B2B marketing software
  • Skills: Experience using AI to collect/distribute CI; ability to experiment with AI; strong storytelling and packaging skills
