About the role
- On-label promotion and execution of sales strategies for approved Esperion products to targeted customers within the posted geographic area
- Execute implementation of Esperion sales processes within the local geography in accordance with approved sales and marketing resources
- Report to the Regional Sales Manager
- Achieve individual territory sales goals as approved by Esperion Commercial Leadership and review performance metrics with RSM
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key customers in the assigned geography
- Promote and educate Health Care Providers (HCPs) on the use of Esperion products through one-on-one meetings, virtual engagements, speaker programs, and other company-approved programs
- Analyze local market trends; develop, execute and monitor performance and results
- Use sales and marketing tools and resources to achieve business objectives
- Maintain knowledge of product payor coverage to deliver against market access objectives
- Attend local, regional and national congresses periodically
- Complete administrative tasks: sample inventory, call submission & reporting, expense management, vehicle mileage reporting
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and complete required compliance training
- Follow expense report guidelines and adhere to allocated territory budget
- Establish and maintain communications among Regional Sales Managers and Territory Managers; organize and monitor territory performance
- Work with sales leadership and Market Access to maximize pull-through from commercial & government payers
- Maintain vendor credentialing to preserve access to customer locations
- Travel up to 30% including overnight stays
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Preferred degree in sciences (eg. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Kinesiology, Pre-med, other STEM background)
- 1 - 3 years of pharmaceutical or relevant sales experience; or equivalent education and experience
- Will also consider candidates with military background or similar experience demonstrating drive and discipline
- Experience calling on or working with Healthcare Professionals preferred but not required
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% including overnight stays
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record that meets Esperion employment standards
- Documented track record of consistent high performance in sales, academics, athletics, or other similar endeavours
- Desire to work in a start-up environment or successful experience operating in an entrepreneurial sales model
- Ability to maintain vendor credentialing requirements for entities such as VendorMate and RepTrax
- Demonstrated excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to influence and work successfully with varied audiences
- Strong interpersonal and selling skills
