About the role
- Ensure that internally executed trades flow properly from the Front Office system to the Accounting System.
Confirm trades with the Counter parties using a variety of automated trading platforms.
Notify custodian banks of pending trade settlement and ensure that trades settle properly.
Monitor failed trades and work with counter parties and custodians to reduce failed trades.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies with brokers, custodians, sub-advisors and Empower traders.
Update factors and settle cash with brokers as needed on structured securities.
Set up security master files on accounting system using Bloomberg and IDC as source system information whenever possible.
Review SMF s set up in On-Base system.
Set up derivative instruments in the accounting system based on trade blotters from outside mangers and instructions from GWF traders.
Reconcile margin cash movements with counter parties and ensure that funds transfers are complete.
Process swap payments for general accounts communicating and confirming payment details with counter parties.
Fund new private placements, communicating with GWF's traders and legal group; ensure proper approvals and documents are in place prior to funding.
Open new global accounts at custodian bank for international portfolios ensuring that necessary documents are provided.
Process sub-advised trades for complex portfolios including dollar rolls and TBA transactions using automated trade load messages and vendor provided files wherever possible.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent experience.
Three (3) years of directly related experience in the investment administration area of a financial industry firm.
Without a degree, an additional two (2) years of directly related experience is required.
Strong knowledge of securities and derivative products and settlement methods.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
Must be detail-oriented and able to work within prescribed deadlines.
Must possess strong analytical/problem-solving, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
