About the role
- Lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s global trade compliance framework, including export controls, customs regulations, import/export licensing, and trade sanctions compliance.
- Lead the implementation of the Global First Sale program with an annualized cost savings projection.
- Ensure Fanatics takes advantage of CAFTA benefits and mitigate any associated risks.
- Oversee comprehensive risk assessments, internal audits, and compliance monitoring programs; implement corrective actions.
- Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders including executive leadership, legal counsel, customs authorities, and trade partners on complex regulatory matters.
- Provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams (supply chain, sales, finance, legal) on classification, valuation, origin determination, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead preparation, review, and approval of complex export/import license applications, customs declarations, and compliance documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence.
- Drive development and delivery of advanced training programs and compliance communications across the organization.
- Monitor and interpret evolving international trade regulations and geopolitical risks; advise leadership on necessary strategic adjustments.
- Direct responses to regulatory audits, investigations, and enforcement actions; coordinate internal resources and external advisors to mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with global partners, including customs brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party consultants, to enhance compliance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10–12 years of progressive experience in global trade compliance, customs, or related regulatory roles.
- At least 3 years in a leadership or senior management position within a multinational environment.
- Deep expertise in international trade laws, including export controls, customs compliance, trade sanctions, and import/export licensing.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams, driving cross-functional initiatives, and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on risk management and regulatory interpretation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant professional certifications strongly preferred (e.g., Certified Global Trade Compliance Professional - CGTCP, Certified Customs Specialist).
- Multilingual skills or regional expertise relevant to international markets is a plus.
